As a Parks & Urban Maintenance Laborer, you’ll be at the forefront of ensuring our parks, gardens, and urban areas are well-maintained and visually appealing. This position isn’t just about working with plants and equipment; it’s about creating spaces where the community can gather and enjoy nature.
You will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:
- Maintaining the safety and cleanliness of our work sites.
- Keeping track of your work hours and vehicle logs.
- Operating and caring for equipment to ensure it runs smoothly.
- Utilizing your skills in horticulture to keep our parks and gardens thriving.
- Taking care of trees and assisting in the establishment of new tree plots.
- Maintaining playgrounds and park furniture for community enjoyment.
- Engaging in weed spraying and other essential maintenance tasks.
Your Ideal Profile
We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, reliable, and ready to roll up their sleeves! If you meet the following criteria, we’d love to hear from you:
- Hold a valid Class C Driving License.
- Have a knack for problem-solving and decision-making.
- Be proactive and able to switch between tasks without missing a beat.
- Pay attention to detail while you work.
- Enjoy collaborating with your teammates to keep things running smoothly.
If you have any of the following, it’s a bonus!
- Traffic Control Certification.
- Experience operating heavy machinery or equipment.
- First Aid Certification.
- Previous experience in local government or landscape maintenance.
