Position Overview

This role is ideal for an experienced grader operator who enjoys civil construction and takes pride in delivering precise, high-quality outcomes.

The Construction Grader Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of graders and associated construction plant, performing tasks such as road construction, maintenance, trimming, and final grading. You will also assist with general labouring tasks and minor plant operations to support Council works programs.

This role requires attention to detail, problem-solving, and the ability to work independently while coordinating with other team members to achieve project outcomes.

Candidate Profile

We are seeking a motivated and reliable operator with the following:

Experience, Skills and Knowledge

  • Minimum five (5) years relevant experience in grader operation, including final trim work
  • Competence in general truck driving, tip truck operation, water truck operation, and small plant operation
  • Experience in road construction and maintenance labouring, traffic control, and using string lines and levels

Licences & Certifications

  • Valid Driving Licence
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., plant operator tickets, safety, first aid)

Personal Attributes

  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, colleagues, contractors, and the public
  • Participate in meetings and group discussions as required
  • Provide clear advice and recommendations on operational matters

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary range: $1,269.39 – $1,421.72 per week
  • 4-day working week: trial in place until 30 June 2026, pending approval to continue
