About the Role

Lead the day-to-day operation of The RockOOSH Outside School Hours Care service, ensuring a safe, engaging and compliant environment for school-aged children.

Support and guide educators to deliver high-quality before school, after school and vacation care programs that reflect children's interests, strengths and developmental needs.

Ensure the service operates in accordance with the National Quality Framework, Child Safe Standards, Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations, and Council policies and procedures.

Build positive relationships with children, families, the school community, management and external stakeholders to enhance children's wellbeing, participation and sense of belonging.

Position Overview

The Nominated Supervisor is responsible for the overall management and operation of The RockOOSH service. Reporting to the Early Learning Manager, the role is responsible for ensuring the service operates in compliance with legislative requirements, quality standards and Council expectations.

The successful candidate will provide leadership and support to educators, oversee educational programs and practices, maintain accurate records and documentation, and foster positive relationships with children, families, the school, management and wider community.

The role plays a key part in creating a safe, inclusive and engaging environment where children's safety, rights and best interests are paramount in all decisions, practices and service operations.


Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, organisational and communication skills together with a sound understanding of school-age education and care services.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Diploma of School Age Education and Care, Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent approved qualification.
  • Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care, School Age Education and Care or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working in an Outside School Hours Care service.
  • Experience in a leadership, coordinator or supervisory role.
  • Knowledge of the National Quality Framework and My Time, Our Place learning framework.
  • Experience working collaboratively with families, schools and community stakeholders.

In addition, the candidate should demonstrate

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A strong commitment to child safety and child wellbeing.
  • An understanding of child protection responsibilities and mandatory reporting obligations.
  • The ability to maintain professional boundaries with children, families and colleagues.
  • A commitment to promoting children's rights, participation and inclusion.
  • An understanding of, or willingness to learn about, culturally safe and inclusive practices.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • The ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
  • A passion for creating engaging environments where children feel safe, supported and valued.

Mandatory Requirements:

To be considered for this position, applicants must hold or be willing to obtain:

  • A valid NSW Working With Children Check (WWCC).
  • Approved Education and Care qualification relevant to the position.
  • Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualifications.
  • Child Protection training in accordance with legislative requirements.
  • Current Class C Driver's Licence.
  • National Criminal History Check.
