Position Overview
As Maintenance Team Leader, you will oversee the day-to-day maintenance of regional and Shire roads, ensuring infrastructure is safe and operational.
This role is a combination of supervision and hands-on work, including tasks such as:
- Operating plant and small machinery
- Concreting and other general civil maintenance works
- Planning and coordinating team activities
- Ensuring safety compliance and quality standards
You will lead a small team, provide coaching, and coordinate with other Council staff to deliver efficient, high-quality outcomes.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for a proactive, experienced individual with:
Experience, Skills and Knowledge
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in civil maintenance, construction, or related fields
- Proven ability to supervise and motivate a small team
- Strong problem-solving skills and commitment to quality work
- Experience in planning, coordinating, and prioritising maintenance tasks
- Hands-on experience with plant equipment and general civil works
Licences & Certifications
- Valid MR Driving Licence
- Relevant certifications (e.g., plant operator tickets, safety, first aid)
Personal Attributes
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with team members and stakeholders
- Proactive, reliable, and committed to safety and community outcomes

Salary & Benefits
- Salary range: $1,201.38 – $1345.55 per week
- 4-day working week: trial in place until 30 June 2026, pending approval to continue
