Position Overview

As the Traffic Control – Team Leader, you will be a hands-on leader responsible for managing traffic, pedestrians, and cyclists around work sites and public events.

Your role will include:

  • Implementing and monitoring traffic management plans
  • Operating and overseeing traffic control devices
  • Supervising a small team of traffic controllers, providing guidance, training, and support
  • Ensuring safety standards are maintained at all times
  • Coordinating with work crews and stakeholders to maintain smooth operations

This role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills, along with a proactive approach to workplace safety.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a motivated and responsible individual who has:

Experience, Skills and Knowledge

  • Minimum School Certificate
  • Construction White Card
  • Traffic Control Tickets (mandatory)
  • Strong WHS knowledge and the ability to implement safety systems
  • Experience in traffic control, road maintenance, or civil works
  • Leadership skills to guide, motivate, and supervise a small team

Licences & Certifications

  • Valid Driving Licence
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., plant operator tickets, safety, first aid)

Personal Attributes

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently
  • Proactive, safety-conscious, and solutions-focused
